Invader

I skimmed this guy's name in the last post, so I might as well highlight him a lil.

Invader is Frenchie who goes around doing pixel stuff, Rubic's art, and pixel street art everywhere. He's been quite a few places around the world, including Vienna. There's an invader at Schwedenplatz, if you look closely. The red-blue speck in the middle of the photo below. Further down the road is Superfund, and then Köö.

A closer look:

Underneath the invader is an SF adhesive - Smurf, you'll see him a lot in Vienna if you keep your eyes open (and up) =) Note: the SF thing is gone by now

Below is another pic from Flickr. Chances are that the invader might have been taken by now, like so many others.

If you're really interested, there's a whole bridge up the stairs on the side of MuMoK in Museumquartier that has tile/pixel art on the side. It isn't amazingly impressive, but you can tell it was him, due to another small invader somewhere on a wall nearby. I came across it back in October last year.

His Rubik's cube art is quite impressive though. Apparently there's a name for this. It's Rubix Cubism.

(If can't see it, try looking from far away.) Short interview below:

I'm usually not a hater, but I have to say, I really have issues with this street artist. After all, he just took an icon from the old skool arcade games, and stuck them up everywhere. Space invaders are fucking cool, but what gives you the right to own that shit?? Noob.

Nevertheless, he has done some good work, and he is literally everywhere, so please don't get too bad an impression of him. :D
